She was first married to Knud Rommetvedt, who died in 1922, and later married Trygve \u00d8steb\u00f8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trygve \u00d8steb\u00f8 bought a coal store owned by Middelthon in Stavanger for NOK 400. Trygve shuttered and moulded all the pillars in the water himself. He did all the work himself. It was initially a fish reception centre, but later became the first Hummeren hotel. Here you could serve visitors in a sea house. Maria and Trygve ran the Hummeren hotel. Here, travellers from Stavanger could take a rest and be served coffee and homemade cakes. The fact that the boathouse was built out into the sea created a special atmosphere for visitors. The building was extended several times and was a landmark that people came to see. You could also choose your own lobster for dinner from the hotel's own lobster tank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the war, the hotel was the headquarters for the German forces in Tananger. The German officers stayed here and held several fine receptions. A barge with anti-aircraft guns was placed on the sea outside.
They had their own kitchen at the hotel, but bought their ingredients from Olsen and Danielsen, even though there were protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the decades leading up to the 1982 fire, the hotel changed hands several times before Winston Hou bought it. He leased it to Kwan Pan Lee. Kwan ran an excellent restaurant and hotel, where people felt welcome and even the locals stopped by.
At the end of 1986, construction work began on the new Hummer. Today we find here, on these historic grounds, a modern hotel and restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
